HI, What can i do for dry scalp and brittle hair?

Hi guys! I'm new to this forum and I have a question.

If ACV (apple cider vinegar) clarifies your hair and moisturizes and detangles then can I just skip the shampooing step of my regimen??

You see, I was wondering if clarifying with ACV, risning that out, deep conditioning, rinsing that out, and then adding my leave-in conditioner in my hair works just as fine without using a shampoo. I really do not want to use shampoo. lol

Thanks guys!
Jay Em :)

Hi there! Your videos and blog have been a huge help to me. I am currently in my 3rd month of transitioning. I've always been the girl who went to the salon and i really never knew how to care for my own hair. I'm learning how to take care of it and happy to be growing with my hair. It's an independent feeling. My question is about hair breakage. I've noticed when co washing and detangling that I have breakage and shedding. Is that normal when beginging to take care of your own hair? I've had a relaxer in my hair since 1st grade. Is that a factor to the breakage? How can I prevent it? Sorry for all the questions. I just really want to grow a healthy head of hair.

Hola!

I am new to this forum. After intense consideration I decided to begin OPERATION GROW MY HAIR BACK HEALTHY, THICK & LONG. I realized that my hair was at its best (in part) when I shampooed and conditioned my hair and let the professional hair stylist do the rest; not many will exert the same time and effort to be attentive to your hair as you will. I am nervous, excited, anxious, etc... Currently I am wearing a sew-in weave until I achieve my hair goals. I conducted massive research in order to build and maintain a solid healthy hair care regimen. I look forward to gleaming various pearls of wisdom as well as sharing any finds I discover along my journey.

I have really dry hair and wld like to know what to do with it

Also how long did it take you to get to your desired length of hair?

is co-washing better than shampooing your hair?

How do you feel about Mane and Tail products?
I once had beatifuly curly hair (I am Black Guyanese)and my EX hair dresser decided to take matters into her own hands and relax it with out my permission! Anyways since then i havent permed my hair since i am starting over from stracth on my natural hair. Its been a couple of months maybe like 7 and i can start to see my natural curls coming back in mayube about ear lenght. I want to know how can i style this because im not ready for a big chop yet and i dont want to continuously flat iron my new natural hiar. Also what prodects do you recommend for half relaxed half curly hair thankyou. And i love your site :) im 16 btw. Sorry one more thing im expereiencing some breakage caan you help with that as well thank you very much.

Hello...I just began my hair journey because my hair is always dry. I don't do hair salons and have always washed and conditioned my hair. After reading your tips I now know that the sufate shampoo has been my enemy. My ends are damaged and I plan to see a salon tech to even my hair length. I am nervous about going to a salon, but I don't know how to cut my damaged ends off. Thanks for all the great tips.

I was using the Tightly Curly method during my transition period, but I'm getting tired of the white flakes that build up in my relaxed hair. So I've decided to switch to using this approach for my transition stage, and then when I've BC'ed (probably a little before I graduate next year), I'll go back to TC. I'd like my natural hair to be shoulder length by next June, and I was thinking that this might help it grow a bit faster.

Hi i am 18 & i have been taking care of my hair since about 13..i strive to be a hair stylist pretty soon i have been on this hair growing journey for a while, but i came a cross your blog for some tips..my hair is chin length in the front and really thick and a little past my shoulders in the back kinda long but thin,a few years ago i cut the top/front of my hair to get that layered look..i grew out the back of my hair with sew in tracks..i noticed the length of my hair grew longer in the back..i was wondering if you have any tips for me on getting the back of my hair to be as thick as the front..im looking for that all around thick look, and im trying to grown bak out the top of my hair to be as long as the back

Co washing is simply washing your hair with conditioner the same way you would if you were using shampoo. I hope that helps!

Hello everyone,

I am really excited about the great information on this website.

However, I am confused on the method of cowashing. I read the suggested recipe.

What exactly is cowashing? Is cowashing when you put conditioner on your hair daily?

Should it be a rinsed out or left in?

Thanks!

I love this site.I'm a mother of three girls with extremely coarse hair. I try and maintain their hair as well as possible, but I've began to notice that their hair growth has slowed down. My girls are 5 years, 3 years, and 9 months old. What products should I use on their virgin hair to make it manageable, yet promotes their hair growth? One more question: I recently pressed my 5 years old hair and was happy with the rezults, the press lasted 2 1/2 weeks, How often can I press her hair without damaging it and what produts can I use to maintain the press? Thanks in advance

Hi there:

I'm 7 weeks post relaxer and I have a question. During the week I wrap my hair and when I comb it out, nothing much comes out but when my hair is wet, I lose more hair than I would like to. Why do I lose so much hair when wet or when styling post shampoo/conditioning?
When my hair has growth, it is difficult to detangle because my new growth is very tough/kinky/hard. I currently use the mane n tail detangler which has seriously cut down hair loss during detangling but I still lose hair when i blow dry. I usually blow dry right after I wash or let it air dry overnight then blow dry the next morning.
Is there something I'm doing wrong? I want my hair not just longer but thicker when I next relax in the next 7 weeks. I'd appreciate any advice.

how many times should u flate iron ur hair

LHDC: as little as possible...heat is not your friend while growing out your hair.

hi,
I am trying to get my hair trained lol it is probably mid way down my back i think?? its all natural no chemical since 2000) so i dont know the true length lol any way I want it to grow healthy and full for maybe 2 more years then ill figure out what to do next. B/c its all natural what can I do for my protective styles? Is a wig ok ? Or are braids and weaves better? Also what are the best products for natural hair?

  • Long hair can be a pain to grow out but you can change your appearance quickly with wigs.
