THIS CHALLENGE IS ONLY FOR SERIOUS HAIR GROWERS!!!
The Growth Acceleration Program (GAP) is designed for those who are SERIOUS about growing their hair and retaining every centimeter of their length in the process! The GAP focuses on EVERY (well almost every
) aspect of hair care and incorporates methods and strategies that are known to speed up and accelerate growth. So, if you are serious about growing and you think you can make the challenge, sign up NOW in the comment section!
The Growth Acceleration Program will run from January 19, 2009 until March 20, 2009
Here are the RULES:
- Diet: REQUIRED - Each challenger MUST consume at least 20 grams of protein through one meal per day for 4 days of every week...this does not say 20 grams of protein PER DAY, it says 20 grams of protein in ONE MEAL for 4 days EACH WEEK. So that will equate to about 40 days of "high" protein. You choose the meal.
-
Water consumption: REQUIRED: Each challenger MUST drink 1/2 her body weight in water DAILY. For more information about recommended water consumption click here.
-
Supplementation: REQUIRED - Each challenger MUST take at least a daily multi-vitamin every day.
-
Hair styling: REQUIRED - Each challenger MUST wear no-contact styles of her choice for the duration of the challenge. Each challenger may take ONE "direct heat pass" during the challenge - so USE IT WISELY!
-
Photographs: REQUIRED - Each challenger MUST take a before picture at the start of the challenge and an after picture upon completion of the challenge.
-
Cleansing: REQUIRED - Each challenger MUST cleanse her hair and scalp at least once per week using the cleansing method of her choice.
-
Conditioning: REQUIRED - Each challenger MUST deep condition her hair weekly with a moisturizing conditioner. The challenger may opt to deep condition by using heat or the stocking cap method.

OOOh what is roller-wraping or silk wrapping???
LHDC: Hi, Vanessa! I sent you an email with links to both an extensive roller-wrapping tutorial and a silk-wrapping tutorial. Hope these help, sis!

LHDC: Vanessa:
STEP.AWAY.FROM.THE.FLATIRON.
Have you tired roller-wrapping or silk-wrapping? A lot of growers have great success with these methods of straightening without the use of direct heat...let me know if you need some help finding out about these methods.
Be strong, sis! We can do it!

Im in. Where do I post the picture?
LHDC: Hi, Tee! The pictures are really for your own personal documentation, however, at the end of the challenge I will ask that challengers (who are willing) to send me their before and after results so that we can have a reveal post on LHDC...Long Hair Don't Care isn't all about me and what's going on with my hair, it's also about all of us encouraging each other through pictures and personal testimonials (hence the SOM). SO, you may send me your pics via email and when the challenge is over, we can all CELEBRATE!!!
Welcome to the challenge, Tee!!! I can't wait to see your progress!!!

Hi!
I would like to join the challenge, since I'm kinda challenging myself to do it right now anyway... But, I have a question. My last pic that shows length after being pressed was taken in December, and I don't plan on using heat again until March (3 months)... would that picture be acceptable?
LHDC: Hi, Selah! Of course that will work!!! I just want you to actually see your progress...so....WELCOME TO THE CHALLENGE, SELAH!!! Good luck!!!
Posted by: Selah | January 12, 2009 at 07:53 PM
i am up for it too!!! Lets get it started! Should we wait till after we do a touch-up? Or can we start anytime?
offdashoulda.blogspot.com
LHDC: Hi, kboug22!! Well, it depends on how long you can wait for your touch-up...the actual challenge starts on the 19th, so if you can wait until 3/20....either way works!!! Welcome to the challenge, sis! Good luck!!!
