And each time we're "on-again" I can't figure out WHY we went "off-again" in the first place! Besides the shine that Amla oil gives my hair, I LOVE the way it smells and it makes my hair SO friggin' soft!
See, I've been doing this new thing with my hair; instead of co-washing in the morning, I've been cleansing at night and following my morning routine:
Co-wash with Shikai-Co Wash, moisturize with Moisture Maniac and seal with an oil...
Now I keep a couple of oils in my rotation and I typically use a mix of coconut oil and extra virgin olive oil; EXCEPT when I'm too lazy to mix a new batch at which time I reach for my trusty old bottle of Dabur Amla Oil Gold...
After I've sealed, I put on a plastic cap, then my stocking cap and then a satin scarf and then go to bed. So far I like this method. My hair is wet in the morning (as if I co-washed) but is feels SO much better than just a co-wash-n-go.
Now back to Amla's and my relationship...
I was running low on my coco-olive oil mix and grabbed my Amla and used that to seal...well the difference in my hair the next morning was like WHOA!
My hair was EXTRA soft and stayed that way all day! I mean, after the first night I used it, I couldn't keep my hands out of my head! And I asked my self:
WHY do I keep leaving this stuff alone?!

Can someone tell me if you rinse out the Amla oil like the package suggests.
LHDC: Hi, Tracy!!! I have never rinsed out the Amla oil. I use it daily to seal.

Hi LHDC
Wanted to give you an update, I tried using Bed Head Moisture Maniac and Amla gold as you suggested and I was like "Wow"! My hair was so soft. I have found that since I have been using this combo that I don't have to moisturize my hair as often. I think I have finally found my staple moisturizer. Thank again for the tip.
LHDC: Hi, Prescious!!! I'm SOOO glad that this combo is working out for you! It really is uber moisturizing and who woulda thunk that a conditioner when used as a moisturizer could do that! and with little to no build-up to boot! AMLA-MANIAC fo'life!!! LOL

Do you use the amla oil on dry hair as well or only when your hair is wet?
LHDC: Hey, sis! I use it on wet and dry hair. Mostly when my hair is wet though. For some reason I feel like it "penetrates" better on wet hair. BUT it works well on my dry hair too.

Girl, one of these days I'll have a hubby to keep happy. LOL!
I am a PJ...I've taken the oath and tried the 12 steps. I don't seem to be able to break out of it.
All I can find about the Amla Gold is that it has "Amla, Henna, Almonds, Aloe & Neem". Those all sound good.
LHDC: Yeah, that's all I can find out about the ingredients too...maybe the base oil is Almond??? Who knows, like I said I'ma use it regardless! Yeah, I'm going to have to post the PJ 12 Step Program! LOL

Hmmm...I have the Vadik Herbs brand of Amla Oil, 'cause I don't really use mineral oil. What does the Amla Gold smell like? The Vadik brand just smells really "herbal"...I'm not sure how else to explain it, LOL. At first I didn't like it (I like sweet smelling stuff), but now I can tolerate it. I have amla and brahmi oil. I just have to figure out a way to incorporate these oils more often...because I also have the HairVeda CoCasta Hair Oil. I know...WAAAAAY too many products going on. LOL!
LHDC: Cassandra, please step up and repeat after me....
My name is Cassandra and I am a PJ
LOL
How does the Amla gold smell....it's hard to describe. It's not really fruity and it isn't really floral and not really perfumy...if you could mix all three together I'd say that's what it smells like! I know the original Dabur Amla has mineral oil in it, but I don't know WHAT this one has in it...the ingredients are not in English and I've not taken the time to search for them. It really doesn't matter to me because I'ma keep using it REGARDLESS! LOL besides my husband LOVES the way my hair smells with I use it! (gotta keep the man happy, yknow)

I like oils that leave your hair with a nice scent.
LHDC: I had to get used to the smell of the amla, it is a very pleasant smell, just something that I wasn't used to. Now, I LOVE the way it smells and so does my husband. Have a great day, Tiffany!
