One of the most suggested tips to "grow hair fast" is to increase your daily protein intake or go on a high protein diet..but how much protein is considered HIGH?
Well, the Recommended Daily Allowances (RDA) of protein according to the United States government vary depending on how much you weigh and your age.
Here's a chart to break down your RDA when it comes to protein intake
| Age | Protein RDA* |
| 0-6 months | 2.2 |
| 6-12 months | 2.0 |
| 1-3 years | 1.8 |
| 4-6 years | 1.5 |
| 7-10 years | 1.2 |
| 11-14 years | 1.0 |
| 15-18 years | 0.9 |
| 19 + years | 0.8 |
[* per kilo of body weight]
So, let's say you weigh 130 pounds and are 35 years old...first you'd have to find out how many kilograms that equates to.
There are 2.2 pounds in every kilogram.
130/2.2 = 59.1 kg
Now that you've found you weight in kilograms, all you have to do now multiply your weight in kilograms by the RDA in protein...
59.1 x .8 = 47.28 g
A 30 year old woman (or man) weighing 130 pounds should be consuming AT LEAST 47.28 grams of protein each day JUST TO MEET THE RDA AS SET BY THE U.S. FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. High protein diets will be, naturally, significantly higher than the RDA as set forth for a person's weight and age.
Now that you've had your math lesson for the day, get back to hair growing!

It would also be a good idea to keep in mind the different types of protein as well. Animal based proteins are not always best for you as a whole, so I would recommend people look into plant based proteins and quinoa.
