In the previous protein post, we learned that keratin is responsible for keeping the hair strong and pliable. Let's take a closer look at the different typs of keratin and their function in hair product ingredients.
Keratin protein --this will re-structure and strengthen the hair cuticle (the outer layer only & the most important layer)
The keratin in some reconstructors should not leave your hair hard like the Aphogee Treatment for damaged hair (which contains hydrolyzed animal protein).
Reconstructors that contain keratin and other proteins are supposed to have enough moisture to soften the hair therefore leaving your hair with a nice protein/moisture balance.
- Hydrolyzed Human Hair Keratin
- Hydrolyzed Keratin Protein or Keratin Amino Acids --

This came just in time! I JUST purchased Aphogee Keratin & Green Tea Restructurizer I actually bought it yesterday after I saw all the girls that highly recommended it. I will use it on a regular basis and see what it does for my hair.
I made a commitment to stop using heat. My hair is damaged and stringy so my it needs help. Hopefully this will help rebuild it....Right?
