Yep! This week makes 60 weeks since I've relaxed my hair! Here's a pic of my freshly washed hair. I'm trying to show the amount of new growth and the texture difference...the STRETCH continues!!!

Long hair can be a pain to grow out but you can change your appearance quickly with wigs.
wow i can only imaginge going 60 wks post..i started my hair journey in march 2010... so right now i am 11 wks post..I felt so relieved when u said you dont have to go from 4 wks to 33 wk stretchs. My hair has begun shedding ALOT in the past two weeks and i've decided to get a relaxer next week after reading this..Im going to do like you said and add on two wks to every stretch.Thank you so much, i was really having problems with this stretch. I'm glad I looked this up. I will definately be following your advice and hopefully by december i will be APL. Thank you (please comment back)

Girl, how in the world do you manage??? I'm only 18 weeks and it's sooo hard, especially since I could never get past 12 to save my life. I'm just praying to make it to where you are. The texture of your hair is gorgeous!
LHDC: Thanks, Lav!!! Girl, I manage, by...just doing it, I guess. I don't really think about it...I just DC, wash, detangle and put it up.
You can do it Lav!!! Just hang in there...keep that moisture UP and keep your hands out of it as much as possible LOL

WOW - Janique and BIA No Mo! you guys are HARCORE - I couldnt deal with my new growth after 9 months - you guys are really COMMITTED -- and LHDC! you are such an inspiration to all of us, relaxed or natural -- if you can go 60wks without a relaxer, I can definitely do a PSC of some sort for the same amount of time to preserve length and health of my hair also!
You guys are transitioning veterans -- if you decide to go natural :)))

You have a pretty curl pattern. I hope you go natural! Maybe that would be the change you need and you will see your growth flourish even more than it has. I'm 18 months post and can't wait to be rid of the relaxer!
LHDC: Hi, Janique!!! Thanks for the compliment!!! Yeah, that thought has crossed my mind over and over again....if I let these chemicals go for GOOD, would I be able to achieve longer lengths??? I don't know. and I don't know if I'm 100% done with chemicals either. So, until I'm absolutely sure what I want to do, I'm leaving it alone...
