Well, last year I told y'all about the Green Smoothie I drink from time to time and this year a reader is sharing her Egg Shake recipe. This egg shake is touted by the published author Dale Alexander to have STOPPED his hair from balding and got it growing!
Bottoms up, ladies!!!

Can't you get salmonella poisoning from this?
LHDC: Hi, Guest!!! Scientists estimate that, on average across the U.S., only 1 of every 20,000 eggs might contain the bacteria. So, the likelihood that an egg might contain Salmonella enteritidis is extremely small – 0.005% (five one-thousandths of one percent). At this rate, if you’re an average consumer, you might encounter a contaminated egg once every 84 years.
There's some great info on eggs at http://www.incredibleegg.org/
Hope that helps!!!

Why is it suggested that you not eat?
LHDC: Hi, Kayla! To avoid weight gain...if you are concerned about that....I bet you thought it was because it'll make you sick huh? *grinning*
But from what I understand you will be nice and full after drinking this anyway, so you won't want to eat.

I would loove to try this but I am breastfeeding. Does the egg have to absolutely be raw and is there a substitute for it? Can I use egg beaters or powdered egg/yolks?
Lina
LHDC: Hi, Lina!!! I don't see why you can't experiment with egg beaters or powdered eggs. I'm not sure that they contain all the healthiful things that actual raw eggs do, BUT I'll bet that they are pretty darn close!
Let me know if you try it!
