THIS JAR IS HUGE!!! I received this product in my gift bundle I received this past week from Strength of Nature. I chose to use this one first since I could easily incorporate it into my regimen without having to drastically change anything that I would normally do. Now, I didn't use the product per the manufacturer's suggested instructions, instead I used it as I would use my normal deep conditioner. I completely saturated my dry hair with the Soy Oyl and then generously applied coconut oil over it, slept in it and used it as my co-wash the next day.
The Soy Oyl conditioner has a citrusy smell that kinda reminded me of the smell of relaxer...it wasn't a bad smell. Maybe not the smell of the relaxer cream, but moreso the neutralizing shampoo. It's hard to describe...
Here's the thing...this product doesn't claim to do anything extraordinary and it really didn't do anything extraordinary for my hair. I expected it to be extra, super, INCREDIBLY hydrating/moisturizing and it wasn't. It DOES hydrate, but not enough to make me switch brands. Maybe if I use it as an after shampoo treatment and sit under the dryer like the directions say, I would have a different experience and results - but who really has time to wash their hair, deep condition under the dryer and then get BACK in the shower to rinse out the conditioner??? I'll keep it around for those times when I run out of my old faithful, it's a good back up.
The bottom line is the Elasta QP Soy Oyl conditioner left my hair soft to the touch and easy to detangle and I didn't have any more hair in my comb than any other week (and that's very important in the 61st week of a relaxer stretch) and the amount of product you get for the price, you really can't beat it!
I say, if you aren't a hair product ingredient "snob," try it, you might like it!
Elasta QP Soy Oyl Ultra Hydration Deep Conditioner gets a solid 3 out of 5 stars.

Um.... am I the only one still mixing in the kitchen, washing, applying, sitting under the dryer, and rinsing lol.
(ref. your who has time to sit under the dryer comment lol).
I'm not a product snob, I just have a Costco container of Mayo I purchased 4 years ago that I just opened and I'm working through. Once that's gone maybe... Costco Mayo is cheaper and you get a GANG of it lol yeah I said a gang :O)
BIA No Mo
LHDC: Maybe I'M the only one who DOESN'T do all that in and out of the shower!!! lol Yeah, mayo is supposed to be the bidness but again, WHO has time to be mixing up in the kitchen just to do a deep treatment? I'm kidding...I'm going to start incorporating an egg treatment to my hair on the days I flat iron.
Thanks for your comment, BIA!

the condish has mineral oil and petroleum. aren't those things supposed to be horrible for the hair by blocking moist from other products? thus, leaving your hair dry?
LHDC: Hi, Precious!!! Both mineral oil and petolatum are great as sealants for your HAIR to lock in moisture. They are not so good to put on your scalp as they are known to clog pores and cause dryness. So a rule of thum for these ingredients is they are great to use on your HAIR to lock in mositure, but avoid using them on your scalp.
Of course there is always the argument that what we put on our hair ends up on our scalp inadvertently...
