The only way presses last - they CAN last forever - is to limit your hair's contact with any moisture, water, humidity, etc. So attentive care MUST be taken when taking a shower and being out and about.
Let me start by saying the weather here in Cali, low humidity, is a big factor that helps me maintain my presses as long as I do...
Tips To Stretch Between Presses - by Rabs77
* Before getting in the shower, comb all hair away from your hairline before tying it in a scarf
* Fold up a bandana, or something similar, into a long band, and tie this around your scarf along the hairline. This protects your hairline from getting wet when you wash your face and neck
* I wear my hair in a bun 5 days a week when I'm at work, and always when I go to sleep-This limits contact of my hair with any humidity. I let it down on the weekends when I go out. I will wear 2 buns in the car, and fluff out when I get to my destination.
I wish I had more, but thats about all I do really, no special skills up my sleeve...

When I was natural, and I got my hair pressed, I would get SOOO excited. I'd run outside to hope that the nearest cutie would see me! Then the swinging ponitail would turn into a stiff broomstick right before the sun! hahaha So I would run back in wondering why. Each time I thought the outcome miiight be different, but it was ALWAYS the same! SO one day ... I relaxed! But now I'm natural again *smiling*
