My husband woke me up one morning with the news that we were going to an annual scholarship ball. Now, we typically plan to go to this ball, but we collectively decided that we weren't going to go this year so we didn't buy our table. However, we ended up being invited to sit at someone else's table at the last minute.
When I got the word, I jumped out of bed, went in my closet to find something to wear and then thought long and hard about what I was going to do with my hair!
I knew it had to be washed since it had been loaded down with product from a 3 day old wash n go and I knew that I did not want to straighten it AND I also knew that I wasn't wearing my hair big!
So this is what I came up with! I got SO many compliments on my hair and even wore this style the next day to church! I could've worn it longer but my scalp was begging to let that hair loose!
I didn't use anything to actually set my hair on the rods. I washed, deep conditioned, detangled, and applied my leave ins before rolling and to hold the pin curls, I used hair pins instead of bobby pins.

Made famous by my favorite hair guru, Wanakee Pugh, the definition of a protective style is a hair style where the ends of the hair are protected/tucked away, therefore unexposed to the air & elements.
In this video I show you how I create a simple low-tension protective style. This style is also a low-manipulation hair style as it does not need to be redone daily.
