(Off) Topic of the Day: Did you VOTE today??????????

 

Gracie Hawthorne, a native of Hattiesburg, MS actively participated in voter registration in the 60s. 

Voting is a very important privelege* that we need to take advantage of every chance we get in America.  I'm not going to get all Black American history on you, but I just wanted to remind my readers who live in the United States to GO VOTE in today's mid-term elections!!!  That is if you haven't already!

 

*I say privelege not right because if it were a human RIGHT African Americans & women wouldn't have fought and died for the "right" to be able to vote...plus, there are still some circumstances where this "right" is permenantly revoked.

(Off) Topic of the Day: 9 years ago this month...

This month my husband and I celebrated 9 years of marriage!  I am very proud about that considering the state of marriages in this society.  Now, all nine years ain't been happy (I'm not even gonna front) but I WILL say that I love him more and am happier in year 9 than ever!!!

My BEST advice to the newlyweds...HANG IN THERE!  Marriage is like a fine wine...it gets tastier and better with age!

(OFF TOPIC) Of the Day: Blog UPDATE!

Starting immediately, I will no longer be answering email by responding to individual hair questions.  Up until now, I was responding to every single question I received and in most cases posting it on the blog, too.  I was duplicating efforts.  The reason why I did this for so long, is I felt it was one way that separated LHDC from other blogs...extending a personal touch of some sorts, allowing me to potentially build relationships with some of my loyal readers - but this has not proven to be true...

I TRULY do appreciate every single message I receive and I TRULY appreciate each and every one of my readers - whether you are a long-time reader, a passer-through reader, a reader from time-to-time or an accidental reader - I APPRECIATE ALL OF YOU!!!  THIS CHANGE DOES NOT MEAN I DON'T WANT YOU TO EMAIL HAIR QUESTIONS TO ME.  I'm just not able to continue to duplicate efforts anymore.  I have some HUGE things going on in my personal life and I really need to continue to focus on and build them up. 

SO, please continue to send your hair questions and emails to me!  They really are part of the fuel that keeps this thing going.

Seeing her hair "live" really moves her up to one of the top spots as a hair inspiration...those still shots really don't do her hair justice!
