Buffalo, New York (WIVB) – The newly refurbished kitchen will serve more people in the Lower West Side area of Buffalo who may not be able to eat a good meal.

Holy Cross Church on Maryland Street threw a ribbon-and-blessing party Wednesday for its new kitchen.

Parishioners sometimes use the kitchen to prepare hot meals for people who stay there when using it as Code Blue’s shelter.

The grant helped pay for the work in the kitchen, bringing it into compliance with current health laws.

Holy Cross Church also works in partnership with Roswell Park to help people in the neighborhood.
