Code Blue: Shelters open tonight in Buffalo and Southern Erie County

Erie County, New York (WIVB) – Temperatures are expected to drop during the night, resulting in the blue symbol appearing in Buffalo and Southern Erie County.

There are night shelters below:

  • Lincoln Field House, 10 Quincy Street, Buffalo: 5 pm-8am
  • Holly Cross, 412 Niagara Street, Buffalo: 6 PM to 7 AM (men only serve)
  • Rural Outreach Center, 765 Olian Road, East Aurora: 7 PM to 7 AM

Heating shelters open during the day at The Rural Outreach Center & Lincoln Field House on November 23.

The West New York Homeless Coalition recommends that if you see homeless on the street, direct them to Code Blue shelter.

If transportation to a homeless shelter is required, the WNY Coalition for the Homeless says: “Code Blue customers will not be permitted access to the NFTA METRO Transportation Center to obtain bus tickets to Code Blue Shelter until 7 PM, and those who have arrived before will do so. Harbor House. They will not be allowed to wait in the NFTA. “
