Hamburg, New York (WIVB) – A dynamic mother-daughter duo go to great lengths to support a newly established foundation that helps people with breast cancer.
Daughter Julen Wilson and her mother Lynn Hansen are breast cancer fighters, and were diagnosed around the same time. Thankful for their continued recovery, now, they are returning the favor
The women did a lot of fundraising, including the large chicken grill and basket pull, which is held today in the village of Hamburg. Thirty-six local companies donated to the day’s event to help make it a success. Saturday marks eight months since Jolene’s surgery, and she is happy to donate the proceeds to Wandsung Cares Corporation.
“We chose them because we underwent our treatment in Windsong, and through their foundation, we can increase education in the community and reduce breast cancer mortality.”
Jolene and Lynn share our site Pink for Hope campaign. We’ll be sharing their full, awesome story later this month at News 4 at 4 pm.
