Brockton, New York (WIVB) – Two corrections officers were injured at the Lakeview Correctional Facility earlier this month, according to a statement from New York State Corrections Officers and the Police Charity Association.
The statement said that on November 10, an inmate punched an officer in the face while the officer was advising him on dining hall procedures and then resisted when the officer tried to handcuff him.
Another officer helped him.
The first officer was transferred to an outside hospital to receive treatment for pain and swelling in his jaw and mouth, and the second officer remained on duty after suffering pain in his left elbow and biceps.
29-year-old inmate faces internal disciplinary charges.
