Buffalo, New York (WIVB) – John R. O’Shea Children’s Hospital announced that it will dedicate the West Wing of the hospital to Patricia Allen, Buffalo Bills’ grandmother, Josh Allen.
Hospital officials tell us that they have also created a new fund in Patricia Allen’s honor, to provide ongoing support to patients. The decision came after a hypothetical meeting with Josh Allen.
Oishei announced that the hospital ward on the tenth floor will also be dedicated to Grandma Allen, now known as “Patricia Allen’s Pediatric Recovery Suite.”
The hospital says a board for the dedicated ward has been mocked, including a picture of Allen pointing to his grandmother in the sky during a game of Seahawk.
“I feel humbled by the amazing generosity that has flowed over the past several days in honor of my grandmother. It means the world to me and my family, and we are very grateful that these donations will go to help save so many lives for years to come,” says Josh Allen.
Fans of Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills raised nearly $ 700,000 for the hospital, in honor of Patricia.
The playroom has also been named the “Buffalo Bills Fun Zone” in honor of support for the Bills fan.
With Josh’s contribution, the hospital has also launched the Patricia Allen Fund, which will provide ongoing support to the pediatric critical care team at O’Shea Children’s Hospital providing life-saving care to its pediatric patients. This team includes a pediatric transport team that transports more than 800 patients annually to Oishei Children’s Hospital from all eight counties in western New York and northern Pennsylvania.
