Buffalo, New York – A local auto dealer delivered something a little different for a new car this weekend.
West Herr drove 500 turkeys to Buffalo City Hall on Saturday morning, all of which go to families in need. In all, West Herr has now donated 4,000 turkeys to Buffalo residents and 1,000 to Rochester residents.
It’s all part of making sure no one is left behind at celebrating Thanksgiving during a difficult year for many.
Mayor Byron Brown said: “I hope this massive display of generosity will encourage others to get involved and do something to positively impact others during the ongoing pandemic.” “Many families continue to suffer, and we hope this turkey donation, along with all the fixations, will help ease the burden.”
The 500 turkeys delivered today with meal sets on Saturday were distributed to Buffalo residents. There is also a gift on Mondays.
“Helping our neighbors is more important than ever this year,” said Scott Piller, President and CEO of West Herr. “We are grateful to support those in need in Buffalo.”
